Background
Peter Ogilvie is an Authorised Financial Adviser (AFA) with more than 14 years experience in the financial services sector serving SMEs, the rural community, families and high-net-worth individuals throughout the Tasman region.

Educated at St Patrick’s College Silverstream, Peter returned to Nelson after leaving school to work in retail. In the early 1990s he entered real estate with Ray White Real Estate and subsequently Haven Realty, before joining AMP in Nelson in 1999.

Over the next 14 years he established enduring relationships with his clients and received a number of awards from AMP in recognition of the quality of service he provided customers. When the regulatory environment changed, Peter completed a National Certificate in Financial Services (Financial Advice) in order to become an AFA. This qualification enables him to advise clients on a broad range of investment products and KiwiSaver, in addition to risk insurance products.

Philosophy
Peter is passionate about providing his clients with insurance and financial advice that best suits their individual circumstances.

He will work with you to ensure you have an appropriate level of insurance for you, your family and your business, and that your insurance cover provides the best cover for the least cost.

Not being tied to a particular provider, means Peter will ensure your insurance delivers the best outcome should you have to make a claim.

Personal
Peter has lived in the Tasman region for most of his life and, over the years has represented Nelson in rugby, cricket, tennis and touch rugby. An enthusiastic sportsman, these days he enjoys competitive tennis and road cycling, and a round of golf when time permits.

He also enjoys quality time with his two teenage daughters and keenly follows their academic and sporting progress.

When not working, Peter likes to relax with family and friends, camping at Kaiteriteri Beach or travelling overseas. His favourite destination is Melbourne, which is not surprising given Peter’s sporting background.
