Background

When he was 19, Calum earned a full athletic/academic scholarship to play basketball for the Gonzaga University Men’s Basketball team competing in the NCAA Division 1. There he continued studying towards a BSc he had begun at Victoria University of Wellington. He then played for Valparaiso University’s Men’s Basketball team where he completed his BSc in Physical Education, Sports Management and Business.

He provides personal and business financial risk solutions incorporating the use of life insurance, income protection, disability, trauma and health insurance, and advice to businesses on key person protection and group insurance plans. He also provides home and contents insurance to client’s families and businesses.

Calum joined Plus4 Insurance Solutions to provide his clients with the collective benefits of belonging to a national insurance adviser and broking group.

Calum believes that his client’s interests always come first, while acknowledging that those needs change with time. This means that their insurance cover needs to evolve to ensure that it remains fit for purpose.

He ensures that the cover selected provides the best fit for his client’s changing needs as not all providers have the same risk appetite. This approach results in his clients have the best solution or combination of cover for their unique requirements at a competitive price.

Not being tied to a particular provider means Calum will ensure his client’s insurance delivers the best outcome should they have to make a claim.

Calum is married to Amy, they live in Tawa and have two sons and a daughter.

Calum is an elder in the Northern Hills Church in neighbouring Churton Park. He is still playing competitive basketball for the Five-Star Wellington team and enjoys coaching a basketball team of younger primary school kids on Sundays at the ASB Arena.
