Background

Grant was educated at Southland Boys High School and has lived and worked in Southland most of his life. Grant now resides in Queenstown. He began his working career at the local Ford Dealership before joining AMP as an insurance adviser in 1991 and became a Principal Adviser with AMP, responsible for over 20 advisers. That led to him establishing his own advisory business AMP South in 1999, a top performer within the AMP group for some 11 years.

Background

Grant was educated at Southland Boys High School and has lived and worked in Southland most of his life.  Grant now resides in Queenstown. He began his working career at the local Ford Dealership before joining AMP as an insurance adviser in 1991 and became a Principal Adviser with AMP, responsible for over 20 advisers. That led to him establishing his own advisory business AMP South in 1999, a top performer within the AMP group for some 11 years.

In 2011 he sold that business and subsequently established Maddison Financial Services (MFS). Based in Queenstown, with an office in Invercargill, MFS is an insurance broking and financial advisory firm serving the rural sector, SMEs and families in Southland and Central Otago. Grant specialises in risk insurance: key person cover; income protection and mortgage replacement insurance; trauma, health and ACC cover; and investment and savings advice including KiwiSaver.

He is a Member of the Institute of Financial Advisers (IFA) and has been a Member of the MDRT (Million Dollar Round Table) since 1995.

Philosophy

“I pride myself on helping people achieve their goals. I really enjoy finding the right mix of insurance, debt reduction and investment options for families and businesses.”

Not being tied to a particular provider ensures Grant can tailor insurance and investment options to best suit your personal or business circumstances.

Personal

Grant and his partner Jo who is a law clerk live in Queenstown. They spend most of their leisure time enjoying a round of golf, boating, fishing and skiing and travelling overseas.

His other business interests include a gourmet burger restaurant and bar business, Devil Burger, which has outlets in Queenstown and Invercargill.

Grant also has a long association with the Invercargill Old Boys Soccer Club as a sponsor and player and the Southland Golf Club as a sponsor and member.
