In 1983, he joined AMP in Dunedin and began his career in financial services. Tony’s association with that company continued under a number of guises until earlier this year when he set up is own business, Tony Chave Financial Services, in order to be able to provide his clients with a wider range of products.
A member of the Institute of Financial Advisers (IFA), Tony has completed the National Certificate in Financial Services (Financial Advice) and as a result is an AFA.
As a long-time insurance adviser, I am able to give business owners a unique, holistic perspective on their business.
Few people in business look at their overall risk but events have shown how disastrous it can be to adopt a head-in-the-sand strategy. I pride myself on being able to give business people independent advice about how they can best manage risk and protect their interests.
I am a whole of business adviser, not merely an insurance adviser. I work to establish the parties at risk – the business, the business owner and business owner’s estate and following the identification of the specific risks, provide strategies for managing that risk.
Not being tied to a particular provider, means Tony will ensure your insurance delivers the best outcome should you have to make a claim.
Tony is married to Marie and has had a lifetime involvement with Otago rugby.
He’s played premier rugby, was a director of the Otago Rugby Football Union (ORFU) for eight years and is a past president of ORFU, and a past president of Kaikorai Rugby Football Club where he is currently treasurer, and has a long association with Dunedin’s Sassenach Rugby Football Club. Tony is also an avid cricket follower.
